In the building of the Government of Canton Sarajevo on February 12, 2019, the 9th meeting of the Team for implementation of the Action plan for prevention of juvenile offending and work with juveniles in contact with the justice system in Sarajevo Canton from 2017 to 2019 was held.
The topic of the meeting was the recapitulation of the implemented activities from the Action Plan in 2018 as well as the Team's work plan in 2019, with special emphasis on identifying the challenges faced by relevant actors working with young people in contact with the judicial system.
Most of the activities envisaged in the Action Plan were implemented by their holders in accordance with the defined deadlines in the previous year. The lack of staff for working with young people at risk, but also continuous professional training and upgrading of existing and new staff, have been identified as key problems faced by all actors who carry out activities in the area of juvenile delinquency and their criminal protection in the Canton Sarajevo.
Representatives of the Criminal Policy Research Centre (CPRC) attended this meeting within the project "Justice for Every Child" implemented with the support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, the Government of Switzerland and UNICEF, and in cooperation with the relevant ministries, institutions and agencies, as well as civil society organizations.
