Forming a Day care centre for "children at risk" and children in contact with law

For the purpose of applying the diversion model of restorative justice, joint work of Educational centre in Sarajevo, UNICEF and Criminal Policy Research Centre formed the Day care centre for "children at risk" and children in contact with the law. The purpose of establishing the Day care centre is the realization of a professional individual and group work with juveniles through respect for the principles of social reintegration. Working with minors would be realized on a daily basis, without interfering with regular school attendance. The Educational centre is a basic professional and institutional thread in working with children and minors.

Forfeiture of illegally acquired property is one of the topics of the discussion at the IX Symposium of prosecutors in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Within the ninth counseling of prosecutors in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was held in the period from 28 - 30 September in Neum, Criminal Policy Research Centre (CPRC) organized a panel on "The forfeiture of illegally obtained property”. At this expert meeting of professionals from the judiciary, their experiences in conducting financial investigations and confiscation of illegally obtained property were presented by prosecutors from Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office who act in accordance with the Law on confiscation of illegally obtained property, District Prosecutor's Office of Banja Luka, prosecutors from USKOK - R. Croatian and Special Prosecution Office of Montenegro, representatives of the Ministry of Justice, as well as other experts in this field.

Sport against juvenile offending

"A healthy mind in a healthy body" is a project of the Security Council of the Municipality of Novi Grad which refers to sporting activities that stimulates solidarity and a healthy competitive spirit, through friendship, play, recreation and conversation, but primarily as a segment of a healthy education and prevention of other negative sociological phenomenon. High school students from the Electrical Enginering School and elementary school students from the school "Aleksa Šantić" in Sarajevo took part in the sports program of the event, which was held in the sports and recreation center "SRCE" in Buca Potok in the Municipality of Novi Grad, on 10.07.2016..

In East Sarajevo a sustainable system of coordination of activities in countering juvenile offending was demonstrated

Professionals from East Sarajevo who are working in the field of child protection, with support from UNICEF and CPRC, showed today that there is a viable system of coordination of activities in countering juvenile offending. The team of professionals has since 2015, developed an Action plan on prevention juvenile offending and the use of alternative measures (2015-2017). After its adoption, the multisectoral team has been continuously held meetings in order to monitor the implementation of activities.

At the initiative of Criminal Policy Research Centre (CPRC) and representatives of Hadzici, on 28th September 2016, a meeting was held of professionals in the field of child protection in the premises of the Municipality of Hadzici. The meeting was attended by educators, psychologists, social workers from four primary schools and a secondary school, a representative of social welfare-Hadzici, representative of the Centre for Mental Health, representatives of the said municipality and representatives of CPRC.

In the Brcko District of BiH a new series of trainings for representatives of federal and District institutions in the area of confiscation/forfeiture of illegally obtained property was held

During the period of 06-09. September 2016, Criminal Policy Research Centre (CPRC) held in Brčko fifth training in confiscation/forfeiture of illegally obtained property. Mentioned training is implemented within the project "Enhancing local capacities in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in fight against corruption and serious forms of crime through freezing and confiscation/forfeiture of illegally obtained property", which is financially supported by the UK Government.

On 21st September 2016 representatives of CPRC, together with President of the Security Council of the Municipality of Novi Grad had a meeting with the newly formed Security Council of the Municipality Trnovo. This is the second municipality in the Canton Sarajevo, which formed this type of body with the aim of preventing juvenile offending.

International police cooperation is legally regulated form of mutual relations that takes place on the basis of multilateral or bilateral agreements which have numerous facilities and distinct character.

CPRC

Identifying and working with children at risk of socially unacceptable behaviour requires unique tools, multidisciplinary approach and systematic planning. On this subject, on 16 September 2016, at the Faculty of Philosophy in Banja Luka, a round table was held which was attended by scientists and experts from the region, representatives of the Pedagogical Institute of Republika Srpska, as well as the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republika Srpska.
