A Roundtable was held entitled "The specifics of the Law on protection and treatment of children and juveniles in criminal proceedings” and Team meeting for the implementation of the Action Plan for the prevention of juvenile offending and work with juveniles in conflict with the law

Within the project "Justice for Every Child", which is implemented by Criminal Policy Research Centre with the support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, the Swiss Government and UNICEF, and in cooperation with the competent ministries, institutions and agencies as well as civil society organizations in the area of Canton Sarajevo, a Roundtable entitled "The specifics of the Law on protection and treatment of children and juveniles in criminal proceedings” was held. Participation at the Roundtable were the members of the Team for the implementation of the Action Plan for the prevention of juvenile offending and work with juveniles in conflict with the law - Canton Sarajevo, representatives of municipalities of Canton Sarajevo, as well as other relevant stakeholders active in the field of child protection.

Realized workshop "Children at risk and children in contact with the law: The challenge of interdisciplinary approach"

Criminal Policy Research Centre (CPRC), on 17th and 18th December 2015, at hotel "Zenica" in Zenica, organized a workshop entitled "Children at risk and children in contact with the law: The challenge of interdisciplinary approach." The workshop was attended by teachers from higher education institutions of the University of Sarajevo, University of East Sarajevo, University of Banja Luka, both Universities of Mostar, University of Zenica and the University of Tuzla. The goal of the workshop was to critically deal with the phenomenon of "child at risk" and "child in contact with the law" in the domain areas of law, psychology, pedagogy, social work and criminology with criminalistics.

Realized interactive training "Children in contact with the law"

Criminal Policy Research Centre (CPRC), on 10th and 11th December, in Hotel "Lavina" on Jahorina, realized an advanced interactive training "Children in contact with the law", for representatives of judicial authorities, police representatives and representatives of the guardianship authority. Training of these professionals from Canton Sarajevo and East Sarajevo, who work and have a tendency to work with children, was undertaken in cooperation with the professionals who participated in the drafting and implementation of the laws on the protection and treatment of children and juveniles in criminal proceedings.

Workshop "Children at risk and children in contact with the law: The challenge of interdisciplinary approach"

Criminal Policy Research Centre (CPRC) will organize a workshop entitled "Children at risk and children in contact with the law: The challenge of interdisciplinary approach." The event, scheduled for 17th and 18th December 2015, in hotel "Zenica" in Zenica will be attended by representatives of relevant institutions of higher education in Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Mostar, Zenica and Tuzla. The main goal is to address the phenomenon of "child at risk" and "child in contact with the law" in the domain areas of law, psychology, pedagogy, social work and criminology with criminalistics.

Meeting regarding Amendments to the Action Plan for the Prevention of Juvenile Offending and Work with Juveniles in Conflict with the Law (2014-2016)

In the building of the Government of Canton Sarajevo on 12.08.2015, the meeting of the Team for implementation of the Action Plan for the Prevention of juvenile offending and work with juveniles in conflict with the law (2014-2016). The reason for the meeting was to supplement the aforementioned Action Plan. The committee that was appointed at the previous meeting by the Team, submitted a draft version of amendments to the Action Plan which was discussed at the meeting. The participants gave their opinions on all the proposed activities of the submitted document and gave their suggestions and comments. A written version will be submitted to the Commission and the final version of the amendments will be submitted to the Government of Canton Sarajevo for consideration.

A Workshop was held as a part of the Project: "Inclusion of labour inspectors in the referral (recommended) mechanisms for combating human trafficking”

Within the framework of the project entitled "Inclusion of labour inspectors in the referral (recommended) mechanisms for combating human trafficking”, which Criminal Policy Research Centre (CPRC) is implementing with financial support of the US Embassy in Sarajevo, a three-day workshop was held in Fojnica in the period of 30.XI-02.XII.2015 with the aim of reviewing proposal for the "Guide of procedure for labour inspections in cases of human trafficking in Bosnia and Herzegovina".

"Children in contact with the law": An advanced interactive training

Criminal Policy Research Centre (CPRC), on 10th and 11th December 2015, at the Hotel "Lavina" on Jahorina, will organize an event called "Children in contact with the law: Advanced interactive training". The main objective of this event is to train professionals of judicial and non-judicial bodies in Canton Sarajevo and East Sarajevo, and exchange of good practice in the application of the laws on the protection and treatment of children and juveniles in criminal proceedings. Interactive training is carried out under the project "Justice for Every Child", which is implemented with the support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, the Swiss Government and UNICEF, and in cooperation with the competent ministries, institutions and agencies as well as civil society organizations.

Cooperation with the Italian Agency for the Management of Seized Assets

Rome, 24.IX.2015, representatives of the Criminal Policy Research Centre (CPRC), within the framework of the project "Enhancing local capacities in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in fight against corruption and serious forms of crime through freezing and confiscation/forfeiture of illegally obtained property", which is funded by the British government, held a meeting with representatives of the Italian National Agency for the administration and the destination of sized and confiscated assets from organized crime –ANBSC (L'Agenzia Nazionale per l'amministrazione e la destinazione dei beni sequestrati e confiscati alla criminalità organizzata).

Team meeting for the implementation of the Action Plan for the Prevention of juvenile offending and work with juveniles in conflict with the law (2014-2016) in Canton Sarajevo

On 24.11.2015 at the premises of the Government of Canton Sarajevo the fourth meeting was held of the Team for implementation of the Action Plan for Prevention of juvenile offending and work with juveniles in conflict with the law (2014-2016) in Canton Sarajevo. The meeting mainly discussed the implementation of the Plan and analysing the information submitted by the relevant ministries. The importance of primary prevention of juvenile offending, and especially the role of the school in the same, highlighted the need to assess the available resources of public institutions in the field of primary prevention. Emphasized is the great potential that schools have, not only in education, but also in forming the entire personality of young children and, in particular, as the children and young people spend extended period of time in school, recognizing and correcting certain behavioural lack of adaptation.
